This happens to be the first post of this blog of mine and here, I would like to invite you all to join me for a cup of Green Tea and journey along with me through this blog as I share about Life, Livelihood, Leisure & Lifestyle.
To introduce myself, I am a born dreamer and I keep weaving my dreams into reality and those were absolutely wonderful experiences. One thing I've realized is that "Life is beautiful, life is great! A little bit of sugar, a little bit of spice....a dash of lime and a bite of chili. It's all part of the game called Life!!" So, life has got to be made the most out of it and celebrated. I do so and enjoy every bit of it. Besides all my work in the Non-profit sector, I manage to find the time to cook and to spend time with my family, to do photography on official trips and personal travel. Love horse riding and Polo. Enjoy designing clothes and jewellery. In short I love and enjoy the finer points of life and each individual ought to live their lives to the fullest. Old dreams realized, New dreams to be woven, I am on my way to make my dreams realized in the very near future. For everything, I need to stay hail, hearty, lively and happy. So what better option than resorting to a daily doze of 5 big cups of Green Tea.
Green tea is said to be the healthiest beverage on the planet. This storehouse of benefits is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that have powerful effects on the body and can improve health..This includes
improved brain function, fat loss, a lower risk of Cancer , Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Green Tea can kill bacteria, which improves Dental health and lowers risk of infection. It also lowers the risk of Type II Diabetes and so decreases the risk of dying. Thus helping us live longer.
An example is that of my granny who expired 3 months ago. She lived upto a ripe old age of 95 and the secret of her health and longevity being custom made green tea leaves which are grown , plucked, hand rolled and sun dried in the courtyards of the villagers of Tamenglong, one of the district headquarters of the state of Manipur. (Manipur is an enchanting place tuck high in the lofty middle Himalayan range in North East India), The taste of those leaves is unique. It might be surprising to the world when I talk about tea from
Manipur for people generally talk about Assam and Darjeeling when they talk about tea from India. But it is a lesser known fact that it was in Manipur that the British found tea growing for the first time. They requested the Maharaja's permission to go ahead with tea plantation but the King who happen to be one of my ancestors decided against it and they instead went ahead with the plantation work in Assam and other areas with the original plants from Manipur. It is said that the largest Tea Stump in the world is in Khudei Khulen, a small village in Manipur boardering Assam. I plan to go there in my next trip to my hometown.
Right now, as I am away from my homestate and is residing in Assam, my source of green tea is Assam and Darjeeling Tea gardens. Here, I got 3 pots with tea growing in it on my terrace garden and it is wonderful sipping my green tea liquor with Jasmine flower inside the cup to enhance the aroma of the tea. Will be sharing the recipes and a detailed post on the benefits of green tea in my future posts. For now its time for me to catch my beauty sleep. Catch you all later with my next post. Until than, enjoy your green tea and stay healthy.
